Art and Photography cultural trip to Florence
In December the Art and Photography students from year 12 and 13 visited the magnificent city of Florence for 5 days. The trip was packed full of culturally enriching experiences such as climbing the leaning tower of Pisa, attending a special Science and Art workshop at the Galileo museum, participating in the Michelangelo and Faith Tour which included visiting the Accademia, Laurentian Library,Cupola, Operas del Duomo Museum and Baptistery.
A visit to the Pitti Palace and gardens of Boboli. A visit to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum, and being part of a Renaissance and Medici tour which included being taught about the history of Art in the Uffizi museum by a specialist Art historian. As if that was not enough… the Art students participated in an Art Fresco workshop, where they learnt the unique technique form the Renaissance, and the Photographers were taken around the city by a specialist Photographer to corners of the city that most tourists would not know about.
Needless to say, both students and teachers returned to Madrid exhausted but very inspired.
