Fifth Hastings School Football Tournament and Barbecue
On Saturday 13th June, Hastings School celebrated its V Football-7 Tournament at the Polideportivo Luis Aragonés
. The day turned up perfect to practice sports: cloudy and with a light breeze, much better that the suffocating hot weather in other editions.
On the verge of 9 am, the two football fields started getting full with parents and children anxious to start the game. Only fifteen minutes later, the tournament started.
All the 16 teams played with dedication but it was sportsmanship that always prevailed. Supporters cheered up the players from both sides of the pitch and celebrated with them every goal.
At the end every player received a medal that certified their triumph, because the final objective is to spend a wonderful day with the family and friends and enjoy sports.
On the other hand, several students from Years 7 and 8 informed all of us about the The Global Fund for Children while sold at the same time refreshments and T-shirts designed by a Hastings’ student. Parents support was decisive and they ended up collecting 671€, which will be sent to the “Proyecto de Desarrollo Sostenible” that GFC has in Nepal.
With the barbecue in our Primary building in Bendición de Campos we ended an enjoyable day!
