IB Programme

International Baccalaureate in Madrid

Celebrating our 50th Anniversary with the best of presents

We are delighted that Hastings School has started teaching our first cohort of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students from September 2022. Students can choose either the IBDP or A-levels during their final two years of school.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) in Madrid, is an international, non-political organisation committed to educational excellence.

What is the IB Diploma Programme and why is it important?

It is an academically challenging and balanced program of education with final examinations that prepares students, aged 15 to 18, for success at university and life beyond.

It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of students, and it has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities. Students develop the skills and a positive attitude towards learning that will prepare them for higher education. The value which top US universities place on the IBDP can be seen from the university acceptance figures below.

The Diploma Programme prepares students for effective participation in a rapidly evolving and increasingly global society.
