Your Child's Journey

Your child’s unique learning journey

Growing in personal confidence and academic excellence from 2 to 18 years

At Hastings School, our students experience an authentic British international education with native teachers who are trained to ensure that students both enjoy their learning and thrive academically.

There is a consistent educational philosophy that runs through the school, whether a child is 5 or 15 years old. Lessons are dynamic with students actively involved in their learning, discussing with others and solving problems.

Students are challenged to think for themselves and grapple with concepts, rather than having the teacher simply give them the answer.

The emphasis on critical thinking rather than memorisation is vital if students are to access the best global universities and it is far better training for life beyond school and university.

We follow the British curriculum up to age 16, after which students can choose either A levels (the British pre-university qualification) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

In addition to the British curriculum, native speakers of Spanish study Spanish language, literature, history and geography. Non-native speakers receive extra support and in Secondary are taught in separate groups to allow them to receive the necessary individual attention.
