Once again, Hastings School came together at Sobradiel to celebrate one of the most vibrant and anticipated events of the year: the International Fair 2026. Filled with colour, music, traditional dress, international cuisine and activities from around the world, the event was a joyful reflection of the diversity, warmth and community spirit that define life at Hastings.

Throughout the day, the school grounds were transformed into a lively multicultural celebration, where families, students, staff and visitors had the opportunity to explore traditions, flavours and experiences representing countries from across the globe. International stalls, beautifully decorated with national colours, handmade displays and cultural symbols, created an immersive atmosphere that brought the Hastings community together in a truly special way.

One of the highlights of the fair was the incredible variety of food stalls organised by families from different nationalities within our school community. From Indian samosas and chai to Mexican snacks and traditional sweets, visitors were able to discover and enjoy flavours from many different cultures while learning more about the traditions behind them. The stalls also featured crafts, games and interactive activities that encouraged students to engage with cultures in a fun and memorable way.

The International Fair also included the much-loved toy tombola, where children enthusiastically explored donated toys, books and games while supporting a charitable cause. The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with excitement, generosity and connection, as students and families shared experiences beyond the classroom environment.

Beyond the celebration itself, the International Fair carried an important purpose. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards the NGOs Hogar El Olivo and Los Chicos de José y Leo, both supported by our school community. Through this contribution, a day filled with culture, joy and togetherness becomes a meaningful act of solidarity and real impact.

We are especially grateful to Friends of Hastings for their dedication, organisation and care in bringing the fair to life year after year. Events like this would not be possible without the generosity, creativity and commitment of so many families, staff, volunteers and members of our wider community working together.

At Hastings School, we believe that internationalism is not only something students learn about in the classroom, but something they experience through shared traditions, meaningful interactions and real human connections. The International Fair 2026 was a beautiful reminder of the power of community to celebrate diversity while supporting causes that matter.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every family who joined us at Sobradiel, contributed their time, brought energy to the event and helped create such a joyful atmosphere. Thank you for being there, for supporting the cause and for making this year’s International Fair such a special and successful day.
